Waldalgesheim torc

This project was about reproducing one of my favorite ancient accessory pieces in 3D - a torc is a kind of necklace typical for european iron age. The specific item I copied originates from 4th-century BC dated burial of Waldalgesheim, Germany.

The process

First I modelled the general shape. The ornaments were applied by masking their shape in Sculpt mode & using the Mask extraction tool to extrude the shape. The result then needed to be smoothed in sculpt mode.
